Your last listen
Re: Your last listen
I know what you mean, 'H To He' is my fav VDGG album but i do like 'Pawn Hearts' a lot especially the USA/Canadian release with "Theme One" on.. Both those LP have Crimsons Robert Fripp on board, Hes also on Peter Hammills 'Foolsmate' album.. .. 'Pawn Hearts' was originally planned to be a Double album.

Re: Your last listen
Hammill's 'The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage' is also phenomenal ! Amost a VDGG album in places with the rest of the band appearing, plus Randy California as guest on one track.
Peter Hammill: The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage (Full Album)
An album that chilled me to the bone when I first heard it.

Re: Your last listen
All but a few of Peters solo albums have Van Der Graaf Generator members on board.
'Over' is the last Solo album before VDGG finish for the late 70's.. There was four Van Der member plus Peter Himself on 'Over', including the recently Acquired Graham Smith of String Driven Thing fame..

Re: Your last listen
Mostly agree with you but there are exceptions such as Hatfield and the North and National Health from UK.
Also a lot of decent albums from all over the globe in the mid to late 70's like Finnforest s/t, Celeste -Principe Di Un Giorno, Eskaton-Four Visions, Crucis- Los Delerios Del Mariscal.
Loads more that I can't recall at the moment.

Re: Your last listen
It's evolution . You couldn't be playing watcher of the skies in 83,93 or 2003 deosnt mean what you were playing is inferior.
Re: Your last listen
But for example National Health & Hatfield & The North came out when prog was no longer on the radarShamanic wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 8:19 pm Mostly agree with you but there are exceptions such as Hatfield and the North and National Health from UK.

Re: Your last listen
Maybe but they are still prog albums aren't they?
Record companies may have ditched prog bands as Dave Stewart found out but good prog music is still good prog music regardless of the year.
