It's a great album. I had ithe LP when it first came out and played it to death.

Apparently most of the recording budget was spent on Andrew Eldritch's drug habit and Wayne Hussey left with Simon Hinkler to eventually form The Mission.
Both splinter groups initially called themselves 'The Sisterhood' which was very confusing.

Next puzzle coming soon.

Yes, heard it a lot, too. I was seventeen when it appeared, the last months before leaving home and behaving like someone who wants to be thrown out. It worked!

Well-known early punk band. On tour promoting their second album the guitarist and drummer suddenly announced they were quitting just before a show and they went. The guitarist from the support act stepped in to do one long number on stage and the band then went on to look for a permanent replacement.

Some years and several successful albums later this replacement guitarist also departed and the same assisting guitarist from the disastrous concert was called in to record the following record which included a Beatles cover as a single.

Lighting fast on a quick-draw. :violence-pistoldouble:

CN wins today's prize which is a lyric from a song he probably knows:
:banana-guitar: :banana-guitar: :banana-guitar: :music-rockout:

A modern-day warrior
Mean mean stride
Today’s Tom Sawyer
Mean mean pride

Though his mind is not for rent
Don’t put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day’s events

Me - I'll bury my head in shame. :sad-roulette:

Invisible airwaves crackle with life - your turn CN.

The first three tracks on this, the band's fourth album, reflected a more sombre mood which is apparant from their titles.

And northwest of Pegasus
Flew into the light of Deneb
Sailed across the Milky Way

A clue. The album contains six covers, not in the first three. This was a consequence of the band's relentless touring and recording schedule.

Pop would be most appropriate in the contex of the time.
I set a course just east of Lyra
And northwest of Pegasus
Flew into the light of Deneb
