Stu - They just give a clean low impedance mains feed. They give you mains voltage. PLEASE read about them don't ask me. If TESLA make or Musk designs it, you can afford it then buy it.

They are not a rip off company. They *gave* a load away to the Caribbean island that was wiped out by the hurricane last year, otherwise it was uninhabitable.

Alfi, I may have missed it in the various threads etc but have you considered the buzzing transformers could be dc on the mains? My boiler kicking in (most likely the pump) makes my power amp buzz but the worst offender by far is my wife's hair straighteners. Ridiculous when she has them on. A dc blocker in front of the BMU could well solve the issue....
Yes I have considered DC Andy. Would one of these http://sjostromaudio.com/pages/index.ph ... -end-style be OK before the BMU? Would it handle he current draw of my system, or would it add other performance issues?

I'm surround by many small farms and their dedicated wind generators. I'm also approx 1/4 mile from a huge National grid step down substation transformer, this is probably not helping at all with the transformer noise I'm getting?

Though I must admit the BMU did have a positive effect on my systems sonic performance and now that it's out of my system the soundstage is much smaller and the grain is perceptible again :(

That's pretty much what I've ordered although I've gone for one ready made in a case from ATL HiFi:

No idea on what load it will handle so that's a bit of a suck it and see. I'm in a rural location too but my DC is definitely within my own four walls from what I've seen so far.

Not sure who Andy is though

I considered a tesla battery as I already use Pv panels for electricity generation and use an air source heat pump for heating but the upshot was we don't make enough surplus energy from the panels to make the battery solution work, its a good idea though if expensive at the moment.

There you go Scotty, name suitably changed above! My apologies, to you and Andy, it's just an affliction from a stroke I suffered a number of years back - head doesn't work too well on times

I shall give one of them DC blockers a try too.

The BMU is now in my system, and I have to say that initial impressions are good.
