With a warped lid. Not seen that before. May have been opened or Tomasz thinks it could be a very early one that had less of a lip on the case edges. Early ones were not foam packed, either, so any DC buzz will be LOUD

Well spotted ,don't own one so had no reference. Neither did I realize that DC buzz could be/was a problem. Just thought it might interest some one.

Buzz is a problem in areas with DC on the mains. There are a number of things that can cause it - lots in the forum archive about it. The foam we now fit dampens that noise to a large degree. My BMU is tucked away behind an armchair in the corner of my room. On the odd occasion that it buzzes, I would have to be sitting in that particular chair to hear it. The good thing is that while your BMU transformer is buzzing, your amp transformer is not.

You can use a DC blocker, but reports are mixed. Some find it a great improvement, others (like me) find it takes the life out of the music, so prefer to live with the occasional buzz for a few minutes each day.

I have a DC Blocker and find that it does improve the sonic performance of the BMU. Was also getting lots of transformer buzz from my own solar panels and farming machinery in the neighborhood.

I have a DC blocker and it does not seem to affect the sonic performance of the BMU. it has completely removed the buzz.

Seems to be sold and gone. Did ask the seller about age etc. He said it was 2years old and rarely used. So a pre foam one I assume?
Either way someone got a bit of a bargain me thinks?
