First of all relax. Stop analysing the sound. Stop getting all stressed about the sound and if it's "right". You get so wrapped up in doubt and worry that you can't relax. So there you are all hyped up and focusing on every little imperfection that you totally miss the point and burn out.
Stop thinking about that next "upgrade" and what if. Grass isn't greener on the other side. So and so has got more expensive gear than me and I can't be seen by others as being inferior. Bollox to that, many simple and inexpensive systems outperform much more expensive willy waving bling.
I can't enjoy my music because they aren't the best pressing available. Get over it and learn to love what you have / can afford.
Stop hanging around on hifi forums - it only fuels the doubt. Pick one forum populated by like minded INDIVIDUALS.
Go to more gigs (if only )
Most importantly have a good drink

Psychoacoustics. A subject in itself.
Anyway just enjoy the tunes you're a long time dead.

Ap30/ karatestu Guide to enjoying your music music.
Whilst I’ve never been a massive box swapper I have, in my time, owned a few (some cheap some expensive bits and pieces). most probably 95% after extended listening at home, back in the day when dealers were happy to do this and a few impulse buys, if I liked it, it stayed and I mean stayed to this day. The rest I gave to friends and family, if they wanted it, don’t think I ever sold much. Music has always been an important part of my life. From the early days in my youth with the radio constantly on in our house and even more so when my father gave me a small Toshiba transistor battery radio … heaven. Later in life, nothing better than a car radio to stir your soul. All it needed was that unexpected tune to send me rushing to who and buy the song/album. Then came live music in small clubs: Rikki tick Hounslow; Ealing Jazz Club; The Blue Triangle, etc. Hammersmith Odeon; Lyceum Ballroom and was lucky enough to see some great bands and performers, too many to list here (and some crap ones as well). All of that gave me a passion for emotion and vocalists phrasing/timing. That great imo ability to float around the tune and never feel rushed or stressed. Forget vocal gymnastics for me timing /tone was more important. People like Ray Charle , Nat King Cole, James Taylor, Van Morrison, to name but a few. That’s not to say that every now and again I feel the need for some Ian Gillen, Robert Plant and my favourite Glenn Hughes. So some days all I want to listen to is the dulcet tones of Dianna Krall, Madeleine Peyroux, then a lust for Trapeze. I think that’s how music should be, something that stirs your soul, in the moment.
So now the little S/H AP30. It seems that’s exactly what it does. Allows you to move from genre to genre without hesitation or concern. If it’s good; it’s good and when it’s good the music touches your soul.
As for increased, or better bass, new detail? Yes, possibly but in truth all I really know is that I’m just enjoying the music it seems to produce.
This has been an itch I’ve been wanting to scratch for a while. I’m so glad I did.
Thanks R.D. thanks Doc Foster, and anyone else who can be bothered to read this.

Ditto, I have a long list of gigs rolled over in to 2021, a few have been cancelled, I miss the buzz of new acts and new venues, it's an essential part of my music experience.

Re: Guide to enjoying your music
The love for music and the quest for the 'perfect' stereo have played a major role in my life.
Given the choice of an extensive record (CD) collection or the ultimate in audio gear, I would definitely choose for the former. The music is more important than the equipment.
