Well with the schitt mani unavailable new and the two S/H ones i bid on on eBay reaching £190+ i now need to look elsewhere as the buzzing project stage went back to its buzzing and don't feel confident plugging it in to the ap30! Been looking at the longdog audio (new) £199. or maybe something like Edwards audio apprentice "b grade" on ebay for £80. Using pre cukus fruit box  basik lvx and either at95 paratrace or goldring 1042. Don't want to spend over the £200. as I'm not sure this set up warrants it? getting really frustrating not being able to listen to some vinyl  so once again any suggestions ?

Nicks longdog ph1 is very good, we listened to it about 18 months ago alongside a phono 1, a twin psu phono 2, a decware triode phono stage and a cole lcr valve phono stage.
It and the phono 1 were very close, a matter of taste.
The phono 2 and the decware were better as expected for the price jump, i marginally preferred the twin turbo phono 2, and the cole was something else.
For 200 quid, i think its a very good option.

If you could stretch to the mofi studiophono, you would be able to use whatever cart you wanted down the line as that it mc capable too.

Edit :
Here is the thread on here with so.e impressions of the stages we tried

My recommendation would be. Buy a second hand phono 1 and do the mods recommended by me and Steve.

The 1042 certainly warrants a better phono stage. Even the At 95 would actually benefit from a £1k phono stage. At £200 would suggest the Musical Fidelity LX2 LPs but you can still buy the £150 V90 LPS even though I believe it's discontinued.

from description " They have remained stored for well over twenty years. " should be OK thought - But it would be good to read about how to carefully use short on/off sequence to reform caps
