Graham Slee

Unread post by southall-1998 »

Just curious if anyone here is a fan of the Slee stuff?

Used to have a Novo Headphone Amp and thought it sounded decent.

Was it only Grado's you used with the Novo?

How did you find the Novo character/musically wise?

I’ve had a few Graham Slee phono stages. Really nice, but the Schit Mani is way better. It just keeps on impressing me.

It’s rubbish at MC though..... though I prefer the sound of good MM carts anyway. Thinking of getting a Magoaka MP500.
Modded Belles A150 MK2, P90SA, & NVA SSP cables, and LS5.
Leak Stereo 20 & First Audio Classic Copper V2
Modded Lenco GL75 with Saturn arm, heavy custom plinth. Nagaoka MP500.
Nottingham Audio Hyperspace + heavy kit, + Origin Live Conqueror + Koetsu Black
Tom Evans Micro Grove MK2 MC phono
Bluesound Node2i (x2) both with latest power upgrades.
Topping D90MQA and Topping D90SE
Audiolab 6000 CDT transport.
All NVA cables

I have a Revelation C that I use for some pre 1970s recordings that require EQ adjustment...

I'm pretty sure I only used it with the Grados. I ended up swapping it out for a little one-man-band produced tube amp that Jerry discovered, and which I wouldn't say that was better, just different.

Deos anybody think the slees are better than nva.

You look around the forums and there all championing phono stages, all of which were beat in a bake off by nva (except long dog but boy is that expensive).

By the way if you get beat in a bake off, don't worry your mk2 or 3 will allow you to carry on.
