This is the (4th order) crossover used by PMC.

It will give you a very pretty graph...and kill your music.

Hi Paul,

Why do you say that?

(Trust me I'm not being argumentative, and I'm not precious, just trying to understand a bit more) :guiness;

Complexity.

The additional components are there to address problems with the cabinet and the drive units.

Every design has compromises, of course. However, in my opinion, complex crossovers are one of the worst compromises you can make. Have a listen, in comparison, to a speaker with a 1st order crossover (or, better still, a speaker with no crossover).

Here's an article from a designer (a member here) that uses 1st order crossovers: https://www.3squareaudio.com/copy-of-1s ... e%20woofer.

Think of a complex crossover being like a powerful painkiller - treating only the symptoms of disease, not the causes, and creating their own undesirable side-effects.

But the AP20 didn't run hot with the PMCs (and sounded great!).

Put the PMCs up against a pair of Cube 1 or 2...

btw, your tip to replace the metal jumper bars is a good one.
