Re: New Turntable wanted
It was slightly better pace and solidity of the bass that won the day for the Garrard over my Anniversary. If only I could of had the best of both! Swings and roundabouts.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Re: New Turntable wanted
The Audiomods is a cracking arm. Have you put your Lyra in it?antonio66 wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 6:06 am Picked up the Lenco yesterday from Ant. He kindly sold me his Audiomods arm and fitted it to save me the trouble. I had a busy day yesterday, but did get the cartridge fitted, and listened for about 5 mins. Will have a more extended listen today, but enjoyed what I heard yesterday.
Thanks Ant.
If the metronomic timing of the idler drive clicks with you, then there's no going back, imo.

Re: New Turntable wanted
I hope that works for you, some mains powered LED lamps flicker at a higher frequency than mains and the strobe markings on the Lenco were designed for incandescent lighting or a Neon.antonio66 wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 8:29 am Purchased this yesterday https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-1pcs-Flexi ... 2749.l2648 so I can use the strobe supplied with the Lenco.

It was Ant who said LED, but no probs it will always come in handy. I do have small neon down lights in the kitchen that I could use simple by moving the tt.

Re: New Turntable wanted
In answer to your question Savvypaul, yes the Lyra's been fitted. Listened to vinyl most of yesterday and at the moment cannot see any downside. The last LP I played was Dark Side of the Moog - Schulze/Namlook and it sounded superb.

Re: New Turntable wanted
Still enjoying this wonderful turntable, making me want to turn the volume up. Seriously don't think the PT will have to stay on the subs bench.
