It was slightly better pace and solidity of the bass that won the day for the Garrard over my Anniversary. If only I could of had the best of both! Swings and roundabouts.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

I had a busy day yesterday, but did get the cartridge fitted, and listened for about 5 mins. Will have a more extended listen today, but enjoyed what I heard yesterday.
Thanks Ant.
The Audiomods is a cracking arm. Have you put your Lyra in it?

If the metronomic timing of the idler drive clicks with you, then there's no going back, imo.

I hope that works for you, some mains powered LED lamps flicker at a higher frequency than mains and the strobe markings on the Lenco were designed for incandescent lighting or a Neon.

It was Ant who said LED, but no probs it will always come in handy. I do have small neon down lights in the kitchen that I could use simple by moving the tt.

In answer to your question Savvypaul, yes the Lyra's been fitted. Listened to vinyl most of yesterday and at the moment cannot see any downside. The last LP I played was Dark Side of the Moog - Schulze/Namlook and it sounded superb.

Still enjoying this wonderful turntable, making me want to turn the volume up. Seriously don't think the PT will have to stay on the subs bench.
