The advantage is that if there is any current in the ground, because of either the amp circuit drawing different amounts from the +ve and -ve rail or the audio not being balanced around 0 then you don’t pass the current through the transformer secondary and so cause it to saturate.

As we know Richard was very frugal when it came to components so spending another £1 on an extra rectifier must have been justified in terms of sound quality !!

So stereo amps also have 1 rectifier?

Interesting that your old A60 has 2 rectifiers and a single transformer ? My early 90's A60 just had the one rectifier.
