I have read some very good things about Blue Jeans cables most notably, on the Chord Facebook group, about their BNC cables out performing the Wave Storm which cost 1.4K. Had a look on their site and found that a pair only cost £54 inc shipping and duties. I have pressed the button and will see how they compare with my Geistnote Apogee which cost a little bit more.slinger wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:01 pm I ordered the Blue Jeans' ethernet cables last night. I forgot their prices are quoted before VAT/sales taxes/p+p/fairy-dust etc. so £78.25 turned into £108.24, but that's still a decent price for all four leads in my book. Worst case scenario: they make no difference and I've got plenty of spare ethernet cables. Let's get this sorted now though. For a hundred quid I am going to tell you they sound better.
Many thanks. Finally up and running last weekend. Had to move to Spotify as could not find plugin for Amazon Music. All more straightforward than I expected. Huge relieve to finally stream to the main system. Its been a bit of a journey, this streaming thingy. Enjoying the music.Fretless wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 6:43 am The Tinkerboard already has very good SQ on its own. The rest (reclocker, Jitterbug, etc.) Is all fine-tuning.
Should be possible to run the initial setup of Volumio from a smartphone or tablet, anything on your home network (wired or WiFi) with an internet browser will do.
Have fun!
I did a bit of research, and Blue Jeans were not only highly praised, but I couldn't find a bad word about them anywhere. It might be smoke and mirrors, or it might not be, but the fact that they not only know exactly what they want but have Belden making it specifically for them, and that they not only "say" that they test each individual Cat6a cable that they make for you, but actually send a printout of the test with your cable. The cherry on top of that is the link they provide that explains how to read a report generated by the Fluke DTX-1800 they use.CN211276 wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:55 amI have read some very good things about Blue Jeans cables most notably, on the Chord Facebook group, about their BNC cables out performing the Wave Storm which cost 1.4K. I'll look forward to your thoughts on these cables, my brother had been thinking about changing his BNC cables, a new amp and speaker cables have severely put a dint in his finances. Looked at those Wave Storm and considering he needs a pair, the favourite was Snake River Audio. Here's a review on a few cables for those with too much time on their hands.CN211276 wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:55 amI have read some very good things about Blue Jeans cables most notably, on the Chord Facebook group, about their BNC cables out performing the Wave Storm which cost 1.4K.
