Purchasing AP30 s/h

Unread post by Ordinaryman »

Having seen an AP30 for sale on eBay for what seems a reasonable price, well at least within my budget! I was contemplating bidding. This has a mm input ideal for me as I'm not a lover of multiple boxes and listen mainly to vinyl. As I was considering spending £200/300 sorting my rogers amp ( separate post) maybe the money would be better spent here and just leave the rogers for another day.My knowledge of nva is limited to ls1,ssc and cubetts all of which I have been really happy with(understatement) I only heard an nva amp once,at "The marlins" home and for to brief a time to draw any real conclusions, though it did sound good! not sure which amp it was, just know separate pre and power. I believe nva would/could still Service, repair this amp if required? The seller only guarantees against it being DOA with no returns. So I guess the question is, will this give me a taste of nva at today's levels? Could it be modified to better spec etc? At a later date.

OK. Spoke with Tomasz...

This AP30 looks like acrylic front, wood sides and metal top, Class 1 with fuse.

Would need to see inside to check what amplifier and phono boards are fitted. Cannot guarantee it can be economically repaired without seeing inside.

Hello .. The AP 30 belongs to myself the statement in the ad about the guarantee of it working and not DOA is only there to deter unscrupulous buyer's or schisters' I can personally guarantee this amp is in fine working condition as stated and a reluctant sale i can see no reason why you would not get many years service from it as i have had from it .

Hope this clear any confusion .
The LARGE print giveth - and the small print taketh away.
