Tomanek TAP8
The brand Tomanek will be familiar to those of you who adore digital streaming; they produce fine LPSUs suitable for powering Raspberry Pi devices, amongst other things. I was recently looking for a quality power strip to power my main system components and decided to check out their web site. They have recently added the TAP8 to their product range, which you can read about here.
There are a number of different TAP products in the range, varying numbers of sockets; some of which can be specified as filtered or unfiltered and additionally two sockets can be specified with DC blockers (which are intended to be allocated for amplifier use). The sockets can be specified to suit your wishes as well, which is a very useful option for those of you favouring Schuko style plugs.
My unit is superbly well made, heavy and with a durable finish. I love Tomanek products, and this is no exception.
Tomanek also offer power cables. I don't believe power cables make any difference at all, but given the cost of my main system components, it seems churlish not to spend the £20 for these beautifully made and shielded cables.
I hope this is of use to some of you.

Re: Tomanek TAP8
I've just looked at a translated version of the site and can't see anything about surge protection specifically Jammy; obviously the mains plug is fused and each component plug is fused, but if you need anything more than that then you'd need to look elsewhere.

Re: Tomanek TAP8
George, do you think that this could be combined with a BMU?
The DC Blocker from Bulgaria (interesting title for a song there!) works really well in combination, but I wonder if a filtered supply would be okay.

Re: Tomanek TAP8
I worked in an advertising agency back in the early 90’s.
The town was getting ready for Xmas, and had a celeb to turn on the Xmas street lights - and huge Christmas tree lights.
Lights went on, crowd cheered, and the electrical surge that followed the lights wiped out our servers, destroying about a dozen hard drives.
Hard drives were stupidly expensive back the , and only about 20MB each.
Anyway, if you live in a built up area, might be a good idea to have some surge protection. I do, but only basic - from a power strip.

Re: Tomanek TAP8
I think it would be fine with a BMU, and that would give you more options as to where the BMU is placed in relation to your main components, as the umbilical can be as long as you need.
I know Doc was of the view that power filtering negatively impacts SQ, but that isn't my experience. Still, the sockets can be specified filterless if that's your wish.
