Thanks George.

Truth be told I've been on forums continuously since the pooter was invented.....1973.

Shit or was that the Soda Stream?

Just went on the Radford Revival website - those amps look amazing! Dare I ask you how they compare with your ex-NVA's?

Well my NVA was solid state the Radford STA is valve based, so a direct comparison ain't easy.

But the Radford sounds much better.

No problem - you've answered the question well enough - even though you think may be comparing apples with oranges, it's still an amplifier - and conclusively to your ears the Radford sounds better.

I combine NVA with Croft - I wonder how Radford compares with Croft.

I remember you having a soft spot for the little BBC monitors...even when Doc was telling everyone to chop them up for fire wood. Must be very different to the big Zingalis? What do you do when you want to 'give it some bollocks'...as Steve Jones once said?

Well the wee LS3/5A's go loud enough, loud enough to be uncomfortable.
And whilst they will never cave yer chest in or have ornaments dancing off your shelf in the bass department, the bass they do is done very well.

They certainly have a cult following. I'm on 12" woofers, these days, and wouldn't want to go back, but I do understand the appeal of the LS3/5A. I remember Ken Kessler saying that he thought the best amp with them was a 'fairly meaty' push-pull valve amp. I imagine the Radford is just the ticket.

Radfords driving LS3/5A's are a match made in heaven and should be heard.

Death Metal freaks may want to look elsewhere....!!!
