SSP interconnects - buzz pick up.

I have a 2m set of SSP and now using in a non NVA set up other than Cube 2s. I have a situation were the cable picks up a buzzing noise through the speakers where the phono stage is muted or off (including unplugged). Fine when music playing. This is a MF M6 Vinyl playing into an MF 6500i amp. I cured the problem by swapping in a length of Chord Cobra so I'm assuming this is an RFI/grounding issue. Actually suspect may be due to the design not grounding the shield? I will try a I metre length later to see if this is better. I'm wondering if this type of issue could be solved by having Tomaz modify the cable. It's bound to be an issue when using NVA cable with other gear in other situations. So well worth some thought by the new company. Otherwise I will be looking for an alternative cable that sounds as good as SSP (not easy).

It's a problem in a particular situation rather than an idiosyncrasy. I doubt it's unique. Those involved in making NVA cables may have an answer.

For most cases screening on ssc/ssp is enough to not cause an issue unless it is TT to phono stage (arm lead)

One thing I've learned is that what works perfectly fine for NVA components connected together doesn't always work for other brands in my experience.

Phono stage to amp. Both channels when phono stage in standby or mute and even when unplugged. Power up phono stage and buzz disappears. Can't hear it if switched to other sources. I will try another SSP in case this is a rogue - it is a hardly used pair of 2m I purchased from Zebbo. OK with a phono 2 but then I never switched that off? It's annoying rather than anything else but clearly cable related (compatibility issue or otherwise). A shielded cable appears to solve the issue (Chord).

Swapped out for a 1m SSP and buzz has gone. Now thinking it's a faulty cable or length / nr power cables an issue?

Did the 2m cable pass over ANYTHING in it’s path from phono to amp? Is this a job for hitech cable lifters?

Might have been touching a power chord at the rear. Had phono on a lower shelf than before so a bit more excess cable. Did try to separate from any other cables as far as possible. Ironically changes were to reduce box count and not have so many cables and extension sockets.
