I agree with this, the SBT is a real giant killer.vrazjigwb wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 8:09 am The SB Touch is not bad itself when it comes to sound quality - far from it really. You might get even better results if you buy a linear power supply for the Touch rather than a new DAC and LPSU for it.
I have really fond memories of my @-tunes SB+ (http://www.at-view.co.uk/sb2.htm). Brilliant stuff - highly musical. Still miss it sometimes, to be completely honest.

Re: Mysterious DAC
I used a squeezebox touch with a Teddy Pardo psu into a Teddy Pardo dac. In my opinion it easily bettered a Naim NDX / Naim dac and a Teddy Pardo XPS psu for the dac.
The Teddy squeezebox psu is a fine product. I ended up with a Mac mini into the Teddy dac as it reduced the box count otherwise I would still be using it today.

Re: Mysterious DAC
I am really liking the SBT and it would be interesting to see what sort of performance can be squeezed out of it.

Re: Mysterious DAC
James if you use a SBT where do you save and store music files? do you use a pc or Mac mini or do you have some kind of NAS.
I notice that neither of your systems seems to mention a "source"
Don't forget to bring your favorite record or CD tomorrow night.

Re: Mysterious DAC
Right oh I get it now you stream.
In that case give me a idea of your musical taste and I will dig some stuff out because I do not stream on my main system and sometimes physical media can take some finding Lol

Re: Mysterious DAC
I’ve not listened to a cd in a long time, I gave my CD player to my daughter along with the second system in my signature.
I’m really quite varied in what I listen to. Electronic, house, prog, classical... take your pick!

Re: Mysterious DAC
Ok I understand I was hoping you would give me a couple of artist / titles so if I have them I can have them ready to go rather than searching for half an hour Lol my filing is A bit chaotic (Vinyl and ripped stuff is easy but CD not so much ) You may be interested to hear vinyl vs CD vs streaming the same title.

Re: Mysterious DAC
Okay a good go-to one would be Dire Straits - Brothers in arms. Or Katie Melua - Pictures.
