You don't need to be defensive with someone who has bought 2 of them!

ADMIN - Playing stoooopid games again, I am not playing. Why don't you do us a favour and just piss-off off the forum before I have to remove you.

I would say that Nicks stuff uses very similar margins of COGs to sale price as most mainstream brands. I'd warrant his COGs-sale margin is higher than Rega (5), lower than Naim (10). I'd also suggest that his time to build is much higher than either of those brands as he has zero economies of scale on big ticket items like the amps in the link. So that has to be factored in.

And he's worth every penny of it. Just like most of the small scale British manufacturers are.

My margins are not secret I have told people on many occasions. The only way to be honest is to be honest.

It is costed to sell through retailers so they must be given their slurp.

My whole point in this thread is it is no longer needed and is a cost pollutant applied to customers. Most don't realise which again is the point of this thread. The only people who can change it are you lot.

hypothetically - every one of you goes on strike and refuses to go to a hi-fi retailer, but you all contact the manufacturers involved and offer them the trade price, if everyone did it they would soon agree or go bust. In the end it is no skin of their nose they make the same amount for the sale.

Will it happen, of course not, what may happen is more and more manufacturers start selling direct at sensible prices, but I wont hold my breath. Why do you think NVA is attacked and libelled and insulted so much, it doesn't take much intelligence to work it out. We are a threat to the status quo.

Does anyone know of any other makers who supply their end users at trade price, it would be nice to promote them.
