Yeah. I would likely have the same reservations...and still go, anyway!
Re: Bristol Show this weekend
Have been twice, but not going this year.
A mixed bag; the corridors get very crowded, so progress from room to room is slow, though mostly the rooms themselves aren't too full. Some demos are by timed slots, so you need to queue separately for those (I've never bothered). I've heard relatively inexpensive stuff sound great, and megabucks systems sound unlistenable. Terrible choice of music - tinkly jazz and breathy female singers murdering perfectly good songs. All played way too loud. Some manufacturers are happy to chat, some hardly acknowledge your presence.
I've generally come away thinking that I've heard nothing better that what I currently own.

Re: Bristol Show this weekend
That's par for the course I reckon. I attended twice some years back when working for an exhibitor and lets be honest, the only motivation was the networking in the bar afterwards. The Heathrow shows of the 70's and 80's were more an international scene and I think, a bit more serious.joe wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 11:48 am Have been twice, but not going this year.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
