You don't need good music for that, not even good hi-fi. In my days sitting at the foldback desk what the musician wanted in the monitor was about picking timing and things to help them, everyone had a different mix.

Indeed but that is my only experience of Class D in audio, to my knowledge, i wouldn't put it past Boeing or Airbus to use class D for passenger address drivers.
