i think a good sounding system will induce a person to listen for extended periods. If there are any nasties fatigue is likely to set in. Yes a good sounding system is but one of the factors in enjoying music, but intrinsically music of itself whether live or recorded is the thing that drives me personally. The reason why I have upgraded and improved my hifi is to enjoy recorded music even more, not to have a better hifi in itself.
