Modern speaker brands that make the BEST music

To compliment the Doc's thread elsewhere - which makes of speaker do we think generally offer the most musical sound? I've presently got Kudos X2's, which I've come round to thinking are a bit, well...boring. I've got some Rega RX5's on home dem and can't for the life of me work out why they seem to attract such indifference - I'm enjoying them so far. So, assuming Cubes will be given the thumb's up, what others should I listen to?

I have a little pair of bookshelf Tangent speakers that I enjoy for occasional use
I would seek others in their range to have a listen given the opportunity

& yep I recommend Semi Omni

A gorgeous design that I have heard: the little Diapason Karis speakers.
Hand-made in Italy, carved from solid walnut, ported, NO crossover.

Big, warm, detailed, musical sound.

I can only listen to home made ones now.

I'm currently modding a celestion ditton carcass . Im going to re venner it and put 2 bass drivers in .

Kralk seem interesting - direct sales and against the 'fashion' with their designs. Not heard them, though...

My Klipsch heresy 3 make great music. They are 'modern' in that they are just a couple of years old, but the design 'looks' much the same as the 1957 original!

Their latest ones (more modern designs) are better than most see them here in the UK, very popular in Italy, and they love their music, and appreciate good equipment more so than the Germans or the French etc, though they do love a bit of bling as long as it looks artisan or craftsman.

Hi-Fi Krauts are robots. Mercedes Hi-Fi.
Hi-Fi Frogs are anything that is innovative and unreliable. Citroen Hi-Fi.

Italian Hi-Fi ?? Alfa Romeo :lol:
