One of the things I love about music is the emotional response I feel, whether it's something new that " floats my boat " or old stuff that brings back memories from my past. Stands to reason that at some level music will cause a positive feeling to everyone, young or old, healthy or not so.
What a fantastic way for these poor folk who live in their confused world to feel happy. As young Slinger said, plug me in.
My stuff; Toshiba SR-370/Mission 774 /Ortofon Quintet Black, Cambridge CXC CD transport/modified Musical Fidelity X DAC/modified Musical Fidelity X10v3 tube buffer, Nakamichi CA5E preamp, Passive RVC, Proton AA-1150 DMC power amp ,Mordaunt Short Signifer on original factory stands, NVA LS5, Cambridge NP30 network player, Mogami with Neutrik RCA, Sennheiser HD650, 600, Koss Pro4 AA.

I hope I never get too old (more likely incapable) to listen to music.
I hardly ever watch TV, but music is a must for me.

Music is a very powerful tool when caring for people living with dementia. My wife is the dementia lead nurse for the southeast and will often calm down distressed patients with a sing-song.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

My mum has vascular dementia, really good to see her "finger dancing" and foot tapping when there's music on. Also lots of memories are now disappearing for her, but she still manages most of the lyrics from old songs - great therapy.
