Least likely to be changed.

I thought I would balance the other thread.

I don't think I have heard better speakers than my present diy speakers. I have plans to make a second pair. And have most of the parts waiting. Just need to find the time. The second pair won't be red ?

Its taken over 20 years of practice to build my present speakers, its not easy to get the sound just right and in a smaller (relatively?) box.
The type of drivers I use would normally be housed in a massive horn system but they (to me) sound much better without horns, closer together and in a close to open baffle arrangement.
I'm sure not everyone would agree if they heard them, but I'm happy with them.

Thanks doc, I've always been impressed by old valves, 4 or 5 watts at the most. So I've always needed high efficiency drivers. Many people seem to think you can just pick a few drivers and electronicly match them and make a good speaker I take the opposite view, carefully selected drivers and only 1st order to contour the drivers response to ensure they are clean.
At home they are used with a one of your nva 20 watters for everyday listening, sound very close to my SE valve amp.

I would not like to say which part of my system is the strongest as I believe it is well matched in the context of the room. The dedicated listening area is small and the Cube 3s close to the wall fit the bill. I like having high quality small boxes as I do not have a man cave. I have invested in the top of the range interconnectors and cables and I suppose they can be described as being the strongest parts of my system. I feel that they have so to speak taken a lid off, enabling everything else to perform at its full potential. Then improvements have not been subtle.
Main System
NVA BMU, P90SA/A80s (latest spec), Cube 1s, TIS, TISC(LS7)
Sonore OpticalRendu, Chord Mscaler & Qutest, Sbooster PSs
Network Acoustics Eno, ifi iPurifier3, AQ JB FMJ, Cisco 2940 & 2960
DH Labs ethernet, BNC & USB cables, Farnells cat 8 ethernet cable

Second System
NVA P20/ A20, Cubettes, LS3, SSP, SC
Sonore MicroRendu, Chord Mojo 2 MCRU PSs, AQ Carbon USB cable & JB FMJ

Headphones
Grado SR325e/Chord Mojo, Beyerdynamic Avetho/AQ DF Colbat

RIP Doc

I think the strongest parts of my system are my beloved Fane, triple cone, full range drivers in their sealed boxes. KISS rules within the amplification and speaker dept, as far as my system is concerned, and the rewards gained from pursuing this approach are self-evident; well, thay are to me anyhow.
The speakers work well with both my 4W single-ended ultralinear valve amplifier and my A20 and NVA clone solid state amps, and just play music better than any commercial speaker I have had.

I would have had your return to single ended valve amps as the best part of your system with your latest speakers a very close second steve.
I really liked that one you brought to mine.

Probably my cartridge, a Benz LP. Everything else apart from the NS1000m's is just DIY rubbish.... ;-)

Cheers Steve,
Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and build with the dreaded PX4s :)
