I agree stin1954.

If the only audio equipment someone had ever heard was a clock radio and the standard sound system in a Ford Fiesta, they'd think the car stereo was superb.

The sound of all hi-fi is relative.

It isn't. If the only system you heard was Ford fiesta, you would recognise that it's the best you can do, but you'd be aware of it's limitations.

That is because it is obvious, but are the likes of Marco aware he could do better, of course not, and that is where ego comes into the equation. The problem is losing the open mind and open ears, as long as you have and keep those there is the constant possibility of better music, as long as you don't fall into the better hi-fi trap.
