Listening position distance

How far are your loudspeakers away from your listening position? My speakers are nearly six feet apart and I sit about seven feet away.

About the same. With Cubes, though, the sound is 95% the same in any part of the room.

In a small London flat I don't have the luxury of choice, but some theory here, recommended by a speaker designer in Denmark: http://www.cardas.com/room_setup_main.php
"Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art." ~ Frederic Chopin

Amps/cables: NVA P50sa (48 step), A40 mk3, LS6, SSP
Digi/source: ARCAM CDS50
PaS: Troels Gravesen Scanspeak Discovery 3-Way Classic (homemade)

I guess at the end of the day it all comes down to room limitations. I'm sure I once read that Macca from AOS sits about twenty feet from his loudspeakers. Love to hear that. Sometimes I wish I had a bigger sound, I was tempted by those Allison 3 corner loudspeakers but then I read a piece saying they were a bit bland. Plus the crossover components probably would need replacing due to age etc

Speakers 7ft apart, (centre to centre), listening position 9.5 ft.
Originally Cubes, now 2/3rds Cubix-Pro.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)
