Those smilies are laughing so hard you are crying!

ADMIN EDIT - you have one life left yet you seem determined to throw it away. Ad hominem and questioning admin decision. I am bending over backwards to keep you here, as if I boot again my patience is gone. PLEASE READ THE RULES!!!

I was only asking what you did not like about them. Its the MDR-7506 that are really intended for studio monitoring, not that i would actually use them for that due to their Bass output plot.. The 'V6' are totally different.

Can you give me a few examples of headphones [In your opinion] that are better sounding?

I tried the '7506' against the 'V6' i found the latter had more bass! The reason i always went for Sony is Sony has always been a safe bet for Hi-Fi. Headphones especially are like a minefield to me.

I think im going to try those Beyer Dynamic 990 Pro tho.. Tried some AKG found they were a tad warm sounding to my ears.

Not with any NVA amp as those are not bothered with impedance. Grace m9xx in extra power mode (2 usb cables) is also capable

I couldn't get on with Grados until I got my NVA headphone amp - now they have displaced my much more expensive Audezes...

Doc, your grados are perfectly fine for what you, presumably use them for that is testing if HP socket is actually working.... 😀😀😀

But then almost any HP's would do the job...

Yes i am not big fan of grados
I once took my portable source with music i know very well to headroom show and tested all their models on display (12 from cheap to TOTL) those were paired with their! recommended amps etc. And found them all from boring to lacking musicality and upset their guy by saying it loud

Sooo or grados are not to my taste unfortunately

The accuracy of Grado makes them a good choice for picking fine detail out of a mix. I mainly use my SR225e's for Netflix watching (laptop +AQ Dragonfly), for soundtracks and effects.

I seem to have acquired several different headphones which I use for specific purposes according to mood:

AKG K601 - superbly comfortable, great for long sessions whilst working on PC. SQ is very laid-back.
Meze 99 Classics - wonderful walnut-cup closed phones. Sanity savers when other half is watching soaps or reality shows.
AQ Nighthawks - for those moments when you want to relax with heavenly sounds.
B&W P7 - for being out and about with serious SQ.
