My one from the USA (well two as one arrived demolished) had a tag board with screw terminals. I have seen four different versions of this deck, all different, one with a simple rotating plug. ONCE AGAIN from limited experience you try to be an expert, simply you do not know it all!!

ADMIN EDIT - 2nd strike, ad hominem. One more and you are out YET AGAIN!!!!!

You need to think about the way you posts and how others see it.

White wire unsoldered from 110 volt “connection” and resoldered to the 240 volt “connection”. Result it works !

Currently using a travel adaptor. Can I simply cut off the USA plug and reconnect the mains cable to a U.K. plug. If I do that does it matter which way round the 2 leads are wired in the plug ?

If anybody is interested: There is a good looking PL1400 (seems to be similar to the PL71) on ebay. It's the Japanese 100V model and delivered with a separate transformer. What I don't know and couldn't find out over the internet, is if it has the option of changing to 240V internally like the PL71 has.

Only export PL71s had that option and only some of them.
