Well said Colin. Companies like this that are built on deceit with ruthless and unscrupulous owners should be exposed for what they really are. Unfortunately in the hifi business it seems to be not uncommon.

It all started with IvorT shafting "Hamish" Robertson (Hamish was knickname) in the early 70's. All the early Linn products were Ariston Hamish designs - LP12, Isobarik, etc..........

It is still a shit industry Colin that the enthusiasts don't deserve, but they always had it that way so a lot of time and education is need. I started as a lone voice 11 years ago when I first went on forums, ok my truths and reality are not at high acceptance level yet but we are getting there. I know it is not any compensation for your treatment, but the way you have been treated has been watched, and it has turned a lot of peoples minds against the slurpers and the crooks and the bullshitters - BUT it will be a long fight.

How much do you have to export these days to get an award? Never heard TQ cables mentioned on US Hoffman forum which suggests not much. Perhaps they presented some dodgy sales statistics. I remember the LP12 having a 'Design Centre' label. For what? The fluted plinth?

Both Linn and Naim had it, and it is very much a political gift, make by the party in power not The Queen, so he probably donated to the Conservative Party as Linn did.
Bought and sold if you know the right people.

I was not aware that Hamish designed speakers.

Not sure they made many, but there WAS an Ariston Isobaric speaker, which I gather was a doubled up KEF Concerto/KEFKIT 3 and looking like the 'Brik we know but possibly squatter and without the fluted trim on the top front panel.
