Is there a recognised condition...
...afflicting 'audiophiles' who cannot resist foo?
You couldn't rationally explain why someone would pay £130 for an item that costs pennies elsewhere. Then throw in that the £130 item is illegal. Is there a (pseudo) medical condition to describe it...
HiFi Hyperactivity?
Audiophile Nervosa?
...?

Re: Is there a recognised condition...
The root of this is the conviction that your source, amplification and speakers are all as good as they can be.
Something that with every example I've seen has been far from the case.
However, if someone thinks that their components are all World Class, then from their point of view it's natural for some of them to start looking at things like £100 fuses in order to try to improve their systems even further.
