Well done  I think the only safe thing to do with those amps would by to send them to the doc for fettling and checking.

Do you really think I would help the guy after what he has done to them - they are disowned, no longer NVA, and incidentally now illegal as he has voided the class II appliance regs.

His prices can be double you would pay from private Ebay sellers. What is concerning is he would buy any old bodged around gear, attempt to fix it and sell it on to an unsuspecting punter.

I've also failed to receive proof that SR fuses are approved as safe to use in the UK. To date MCRU have not provided the evidence but stated.....

"I am 100% happy these fuses are legal I have seen the certification myself which is not for disclosure to other parties".

"If you have doubts about the legality of the product feel free to take it up with the manufacturer".

So I did & somewhat unsurprisingly no response is forthcoming, but I'm like a dog with a bone on safety issues and shall continue to pursue this lack of clarification.

I find it odd that safety certification is not for publication to the wider public? If they are certified then why the cloak and dagger approach?

Safety certification that cannot be disclosed...

How terribly inconvenient

Its just bullshit, there is no legal certificate, you just need to meet the British Standard for plug fuse, those one either don't = illegal, or do but don't have the BS mark = illegal.

Sorry mate you are banged to rights either way.
