How you spend your money is your affair - there's no right or wrong answer. There are many ways to watch content free of cost depending upon how you wish to view. Personally, I like Torrent Day and uTorrent for movies and US TV shows. Other people prefer news groups. My commute is 3 hrs a day and I stream like a Mother Hubbard on my 4G mobile. Amazon and NetFlix are life savers; otherwise I'd have to listen to a load of boring cnuts discussing their latest chalet purchase in Verbier, or Ferrari order, or how they've just secured a place for their 5th child in Private School. My fellow commuters know how to party...Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:Well I don't, it is a question of principle as far as I am concerned. Sky started the shite, cricket is the thing that annoys me most, greedy bastards. So I poach the signal by watching it on my computer using Crictime. The same with all other subscription services.

Re: Fire Stick
My problem is I am an old git brought up on two channels then three channels, etc, everything free to view so for me the emergence of SKY and their monopoly tactics really pissed me off, and I swore that Murdoch would never get a penny from me. Now just about everything has gone that way apart from Freeview, so it is Freeview and my computer and stuff the rest of them.

Well (imho) If you class Amazon & Netflix as life savers the world is doomed..........
But im a Ludite Dinosaur.

Re: Fire Stick
To be fair Richard, I'd say a combination of FreeView and Torrent Day is all you need for a happy viewing life. As long as it aligns with your moral compass of course. Some people don't like it. Personally I object to a £50 - £60 spend every time I take our sons to the movies; not because I can't afford it, but because it represents incredibly poor value for money.

Re: Fire Stick
Out on the flood-plains of the lower Rhine we have no cable TV or glass-fibre network connections.
Netflix is a life-saver here too.
Led me to quality shows like 'Hinterland' and 'Bletchley Circle'.
Hell - I had a great evening with 'Avengers - Age of Ultron' last week.
