Oppo Equipment
Re: Oppo Equipment
You could look at Chevron Audio who modify a Pioneer universal player (sorry I do not know how to do links) but I have read on other forums ect their equipment is very good and reasonably priced.

Re: Oppo Equipment
I'm after a Blu-ray/CD combo as I don't have space for 2 devices. I'll wait until 2016 and see what Ultra HD player Oppo bring out. If not I might just get a Panasonic player to match my TV then optical output to a decent DAC.
My Kit – I moved to home theatre setup sorry...Denon SR7011, Anthony Gallo A'Diva SE Fronts, SpeakerCraft Profile AIM LCR3 One Rears, BK Electronics XLS200-DF MK2 Sub, Epson Projection.
But I would love a cheeky little AP10, AP20 sort of amp for a bedroom setup...

Re: Oppo Equipment
Blu-ray players are supposed to be great CD transports, but you'd need a proper Red Book DAC to fully realise it - back to two boxes...

Re: Oppo Equipment
I've got space for a DAC and player, just not two players and a dac.
But as for DACs I can't make my mind up, the Hegel seems to be winning at the moment.

Re: Oppo Equipment
I use my Panasonic Blu Ray with a built in HDD for music, not bad gadget but I prefer my old 1990,s Micromega best of all.
It can be done so imagine it.

Re: Oppo Equipment
We liked the Micromega 'Stage' players, but reliability wasn't on the agenda back then and parts, when they finally became available again, weren't cheap.

Re: Oppo Equipment
And - It does perform well across all formats I've tried certainly more musical than the M-Dac, plenty of inputs/outputs. I certainly have no regrets.
I found this article useful although a bit technical for my limited knowledge.
