Analogue lovers: There are TWO Technics 1210 series TT's going as a single lot in an online auction site in Holland. Current bid 800 euro. Special control unit is included.

It's doing just fine. I love it. I would be happier if it didn't have the awful Pioneer mains plug on it which means it needs an adaptor. Set it up last night after giving it a rub over with some coconut oil. Once the cartridge got warmed through it was dancing. My last listen of the evening was The Crusaders Images album of which i intended listening to a couple of tracks. I ended up listening to it all. have a butchers below....

I fitted a new mains lead to mine, not for sound but for continuity, they are easy to work on through the base plate.

It is in a different class to the 1210 IMO, and you have a direct comparison now seeing as the arms are very similar and from the same manufacturer.

My 1210 is fast and furious by comparison. The PL71 seems to have a lovely bounce to it. It doesn't have the sexy look of my 1210 though it does have a chic that totally appeals to me.
