Farting Minstrel
Farting Minstrel
I received a pair of very tidy looking Minstrels last night and at the very low volumes I had them on all sounded fine. This morning however whilst listening at more normal volumes it would appear as though the bass driver on one of them is 'farting'. Not much sound is coming from the driver other then the farting sound. Any advice guys as they are in really good cosmetic condition and I do think the seller has been genuine with the sale.

Sounds like a driver is gummed up, here's how to fix it: http://www.roydaudio.org/articles/repai ... p-drivers/
I also like using a cotton bud with nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol to clean the pole piece and any stubborn bits. Careful not to get it on the main driver doping though.

You are right and I bet a fair few royd speakers have been skipped by people just assuming they are goosed. They certainly sound goosed when they get gummed up!
