That is the mistake I made with my Ditton 15xrs, I wraped the wires around each other, im going to have to take the drivers out and correct it. :x

The gauge of the Mission wiring is dire and a far bigger difference would be to beef it up a little bit. 50 strand equipment wire can be got from Maplin and it's what I used in my Spendors (and recommended by them). I also made up some 'test' cables using stranded 1.4mm tinned copper wire and a 2m metre run from 'my' NVA amps (two separate wires to each speaker) worked fine and gave no audible issues at all (the LS5 stays put though ;))
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

What about if I use some of the Supra Classic 2.5 speaker cable for the internal wiring, That would be a step up, I think.

Why!!! It has reactance so it has characteristics. Internal wiring should be with standard wiring wire. These are probably the best to use.

The 760's are becoming my testing-ground for learning on. Rewiring would seem to be the obvious next step. Now I did have a soldering iron around somewhere ... Pity I don't have a BMU to plug it into

I can lend you my BMU if you wish? I was only going to use it for the lawnmower, microwave and dishwasher anyway.

Good stuff :) You can get the same in shorter 5m lengths (but greater cost) on eBay, as I had to before I bought the drums above.

Interesting thread.

I'm a bit bored, the rain has just started forcing me inside from the garden and the Mrs is clearing out the spare room.

I told her to put my 760s to one side and now they're sat looking at me daring me to open them.

Where's that screwdriver.
