Fretless wrote:A question for the digital freaks, has anyone tried both SSC and SSP (mk2) as a Digital Interconnect - and is there any difference between them?

I just put an SSC in between my CD and DAC and heard a large difference when compared to the Supra cable I currently have there. The SSC was vivid to the point of brashness - but much more lifelike than the pleasantly restrained portayal of the Supra.
What I hope is that an SSP would give a slightly more polite performance than the SSC although retaining the forward liveliness.

Comments anyone?
Todays post brought me a single length of elegant-looking SSP digital interconnect and it is time to see if my expectations above were justified. A last listen to the Supra Trico. Pleasant, solid, detailed. And then the SSP in between CD player and DAC. Immediately noticeable is a wider soundstage and more access to the fine detail (standard test track these days is the opening to 'Tangram' by TD). Where the Trico was a bit subdued in the high treble (and SSC slightly forward in this configuration) here the SSP does what I had hoped for with a detailed and clear top with no smear or roughness. Sweet as a bell! Also the lifelike qualities of the music are revealed far better than with the Supra cable.

I begin to suspect the the Doc is actually the wizard Merlin reincarnated - there is just too much magic going on in the Nene Valley for any other possible explanations!
