I just love listening to "The tea break" and his interaction with the audience. Tempted to buy the DVD-Audio version that was released in 2003.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:Way overated, his studio albums with Nelson Riddle are far better.selby wrote:One of my favs is Frank Sinatra Lives at the Sands

I don't own very many, but from what I have The Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall 1963 stands out as a bit special.
I have the original and a very lavish Sony heavyweight version. The new Sony release IS much quieter with a bit more bass weight and, if it was the only version you'd heard, it would sound nice too, but in cleaning it all up they have lost the atmosphere of the original.

Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Neil Young 'Live Rust'. If you only ever get one Neil Young album it has to be this one. Disc 1 is an acoustic set and disc 2 is him in skull-crunching electric mode with Crazy Horse. Awesome

I had that and gave it away. I don't like the way they have mixed it.selby wrote:I just love listening to "The tea break" and his interaction with the audience. Mahler: Symphony No. 8 - Tennstedt / London Philharmonic. It's even better than his studio version, which used to be my favourite.
