A bit like the old Wharfedale 'E' series. They get up off the floor and THROW it at you. No deep bass extension and a very peaky mid and treble, but somehow smothered by a typical valve amp, they can be huge fun. Not what I'd personally call 'high fidelity' though, as they're far too raucous and unbalanced, but like other niche audio products, once addicted, they're hard to shake off IMO.

So a tad similar to a small Royd then, but 10 times bigger

Why are all the Klipsch Heresy's uncouth? Is it their horn tweeters??

Dunno mate, it is just the way they are, probably a combination of things. Don't reject them because they are boisterous as they can be real fun things if that is what you want.

We are going to have a room renovated and its going to be a bit bigger than my bedroom. This gives me a chance to try bigger speakers. I've always wanted to try very efficient speakers with my AP10PX!
