can I remove the zobel network (cap + resistor to ground), the output resistor and output inductor form my power amps without anything going POP ?

Seeking clarification...

Is it OK to use a DC blocker between BMU and NVA power supplies & power amps? There' s that horrid word "filter" in the link below but I assume filtering out DC is good ?

Link.. http://sjostromaudio.net/shop/mains-cir ... -unit.html

Thanks

You can put DC blockers anywhere on the mains.

Thought so, just wanted clarification.

Those little ferrite clamp on jobbies you advised seem to be helping to reduce the transformer buzzing too

If they were being promoted on TAS or sold by the slurpers there they would be over £100 each instead of pence. There is more in them than a fuse.

42 gbp seems to be a bit much i am sure i have seen identical or very similar diy sets for under 20usd so if you dont mind a bit of soldering you can have a look for better deal

I have a sneaky feeling their "fuse" isn't, (possibly a copper tube disguised as a fuse) or why would Martin T issue a warning to TAS members that anyone using this SR Blue "fuse" does so at their own risk! ?

A risk from using a safety device that is a sold (without any such warning) on the MCRU website as a fuse!!!!

Isn't that wanton deception?

Alfi, I have a Sjostrom DC blocker lying round spare if you'd like to try one before you splurge on building some. Big caps, fully loaded with rectifiers, they're uncased, but I can tidy them up with some heat shrink to minimise their lethally before sending it over to you. IEC and BS fused plug with approved 13 amp fuse already fitted.

Thank you for you very kind offer.

However, I already have one here that I'd used with Naim and Avondale equipment a while back and found them effective.

I'm seriously considering BMU after having trialled one, but not being electronically qualified I wondered if they could be safely used with balanced mains.

Cheers.

Would one not use a DC blocker between the mains and any BMU ?
