Still better than doing it yourself. I keep trying to get Nadia in the shower with me, perhaps I should try the "I am terribly ill and need you" trick

Not good news today. My arm as got 8wks to start moving or it looks like I'll have to get used of it being a decoration. Pissed off at that moment, but it' was the one i was prepared to sacrifice it was 3rd in line, my mental capacity and walking were more important.

Are you walking again now DQ ? You have made excellent progress so far.
My mum can't walk anymore because of two mini strokes and she has MS and a spot of dementia and diabetes thrown in for good measure. It is not nice to witness but after a few years it starts to seem normal.
My dad died in 2012 after ten years of being almost quadriplegic. He could move his arms a bit but not move his fingers. He got a trapped nerve in his back in 2002 and lost use of his legs. Had an operation that went well and he was just beginning to learn to walk again. What we didn't know was the surgeons had infected his spine with MRSA . This resulted in a huge abscess at the top of his spine, very painful and i was waiting with him for the ambulance to arrive. This cut off everything below a certain point.
A month in IC on a ventillator and eventually he pulled through but six months down the line it was evident that things would not improve. He had to go to a nursing home and i got a wheelchair adapted vehicle so i could take him out every Sunday afternoon. That kept him going i think. He kept getting colds as you do and chest infections because he had no power to cough properly. One chest infection ended in pneumonia in 2009. I dont know how he got through that but he did and saw the birth of my son in 2010. Every time he got a chest infection after that i couldn't sleep and life was not so good.
A chest infection in 2012 sadly turned to pneumonia again and he fought it for a while but one day said he had enough and refused all treatment. I watched him pass away in hospital . He never got to meet my daughter but i think she was heaven sent.
Not sure why i have told this tale of woe but i can understand your situation to some extent. Life goes on and you have to be strong for little DQ and be the best dad you can. Having kids did bring a meaning to existence for me. By the way i am sure you can use an anniversary with one arm.
