Bagged a mint pair of wharfedale Dovedale. They have a 12 inch driver which was fitted to b&o speakers back in the day.

There a 3 way speaker infinite baffle speaker in a hefty box. Going to listen to them as is, then decide which doc mods to undertake.

Nice. Seen a few on eBay that I would have picked up, myself, if nearer to home.

Great choice for Doc mods.

I asked 2 of those for sale, would they deliver at my cost and they said no. They are both for sale 1 month later.

Person who sold me these is charging £40!

I think you will find that even though you may think big speakers don't work in small rooms it is just the effortlessness of big bass drivers that win you over. They don't even have to go any lower in frequency, just move more air and do so with less distortion (because they are moving less).

Enjoy. When is the crossover getting ripped out :grin:

I find that big speakers can work really well at low volumes, too.

I listened to them, they werent bad, actually quite good.
I've now taken them apart.
The midrange as it's own enclosure. I'm wondering if I keep the xover for the midrange.

Possibly similar internal design to the Richard Allan Pavane I had- had the same thoughts about the crossovers as they sound good pre-mod, try it always undo it if kept exterior

Probably a good idea but you could try simplifying it if it is complex and doing the same with the tweeter high pass filter. The mid will have a band pass filter on it rolling off low and high frequencies. I don't think you could dope it anyway - if you did then probably only with plastidip. Bass driver is probably ripe for lashings of dope :guiness;
