Turntable Mats

Unread post by terrybooth »

I'm going to attempt to make some sense of my impressions of different mats on the new-to-me PL71.

I have four mats, which I'm going to call A, B,C and D. Bear with me, I have a short attention span and I'm rediscovering my vinyl, so I will get distracted. So, here's initial impressions of mats A and B.

Started with A. So that's the reference for this evening's session. Moving to mat B I felt I had gained a little clarity. But then I felt I was loosing something in the body. Back to A and yes, voices and instruments have more weight to them. So, my initial feeling is that mat B gives more emphasis to the leading edge and treble.

And then I put on Oleta Adams. Bye bye critical listening - I juest want this to wash over me ( on mat A btw).

More soon.

Click on User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> Edit display options -> Display avatars -> No -> Submit

This will hide all avatars when you're logged-on, which is the setting I like to use.
