Just received another of these fuses this morning and another subtle improvement when I put it into the plug for my server. :D

I know it would probably sound better as I've bridged out fuses before with copper bar . Still not happy as I think this raises safety issues Doc.

That is what the trip in the consumer unit will deal with, it will react about 1000 times more quickly (if a modern unit) than any glass fuse ever could - they are a complete Fff-ing waste of time. They were needed when your consumer unit (in those days known as a fuse box) had bits of wire in it that fused.
