My fault, I didn't explain clearly - my pub experiences tend to be non amplified. A few chaps used to practice/"jam" at my local with acoustic guitars. Most gigs / live concerts I've been too are to loud or badly mixed or the musicians are packed into a tiny corner with no room to breath,so coming home and listening to the same music is a Joy .
Swings and roundabouts I guess.
Also saw a bunch of musicians busking in a market in France ("les ongles noir") - superb; bought the CD which is excellent, but not up to my aural memory.
