Re: Onix OA21
The amp used was the one the dealer wanted to sell you or the one bullshitted in the Flat Earth magazines.
Re: Onix OA21
There was quite a few onix products kicking about (early eighties) the hifi mags sang their praise......not sure if they are still going....

Re: Onix OA21
Wasn't this what Nytech became in a second incarnation? Or was that Ion?

Re: Onix OA21
The OA21 was (and still is) a great little amp and, along with the Exposure X, a clear competitor* to the Nait 1 at the time.
*I use that term loosely as imho (and experience) both of them are much better amplifiers than a Nait.
TB - you're right, Nytech became Ion Systems. I owned a Nytech CA252 many years ago; it's still doing service in a friend's 2nd system to this day.

Re: Onix OA21
Hi,
I have an Onix OA20 , smaller "brother" to the OA21.
Built like a tank, love it, still using it in my study attached to a mac mini and pair of TDL rtl2.
In some respects the OA20 is better than my Nait 3,(see other posts ), may well swap them over permanently at some stage. From what I remember the OA21 with "Soap" power supply was better than the Nait (1 or 2), but I couldn't afford the extra outlay at the time, quite regret it now.
I think that there was some sort of financial problem which resulted in court cases and a buy out by a far eastern company - much of the later product (after OA20 and 21) used the ONIX name but wasn't the same. Sorry for being vague, I am sure that a search for Onix on some other forums will fill in the details. I think that Adam Worsford ? (one of the original owners/designers) is attempting to get the brand going again - Onix DNA ?
