Saying its willy waving says more about the commentator than the hifi owner

What a ridiculous thing to say.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 9:52 pm
Is there a reason apart from willy waving to show your system pictures on a forum.
Yes, of course there is, some people enjoy home built equipment, say a pair of speakers or suchlike and like to share their hard work with others.
Willy waving is probably the last thing on their minds.
One shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush.

Re: Interesting how some integrate audio into their living space?
Hi-Fi forum experience of nearly 15 years tells me different.. The point is that consciously they don't think of it as willy waving, we create justification. It is mostly ego / self based IME, but you are welcome to a contra view, and I would prefer it if you were right.
It is male thing, we do it with cars etc, see the link it is just boys bragging to each other about their toys. Women do it as well but of course about other things. That definitely can't be called willy waving, so I am not sure what is being waved

Shall we have a HFS willy waving thread, and show them all up, may be fun, who is up for it. Lets face it, it is human nature, so lets join in.
Sadly my willy wave will be ugly as it is wires all over test system under constant change so I wont bother.

There is no right way only your way.
Is there a reason apart from willy waving to show your system pictures on a forum. Answers on a post card please. I can think of one that makes sense, to accompany a review of system or new product.

I thought we already had a picture thread on this forum. A bit of searching and I might find it...Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 10:28 pm Shall we have a HFS willy waving thread, and show them all up, may be fun, who is up for it. Lets face it, it is human nature, so lets join in.
