Re: Reviews for the new NVA website
Some of the reviews will be of no use.
.
1. New nva is not currently building speakers and if they do I understand they will not be made of acrylic.
2. While the old and new amps may share the same name they are different in terms of transformer power and make and capacitor make and power

Re: Reviews for the new NVA website
There are no details of transformer size or quantity for the new models so it's rather vague as to what you are buying. RD was sparse on specs but you knew basically what you were getting in terms of power. They may look similar and sound completely something else for all I know.

The power supply rating for each model is stated exactly as before.....e,g. A80s = 2 x 150va each.

1. We are testing prototypes in different materials. If acrylic sounds best then it will be used.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 5:36 pm Some of the reviews will be of no use.

2. The component upgrades are supportive of Richard's design. The power ratings are virtually unchanged (Toroidy make a 150va rather than a 160va) and the sonic signature is absolutely NVA...it is an evolution that Tomasz and Richard had discussed many times.
Any reviews I copy across with members permission will state which version the review is for.

Toroidy transformers have an excellent reputation.Classicrock wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 12:36 am There are no details of transformer size or quantity for the new models so it's rather vague as to what you are buying. Re: Reviews for the new NVA website
I do not see a problem with old reviews as long as the title makes clear the Mk of the product and the date the review was originally posted. The sound signature will be the same.

Re: Reviews for the new NVA website
I must have looked before the description was finalised (some days ago). Anyhow a slight drop in power rating at a higher price. Yes I know you guys have to make a decent profit! Is the component quality much improved other than the stepped attenuators? Otherwise new web site is a great improvement.savvypaul wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:31 am???Classicrock wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 12:36 am There are no details of transformer size or quantity for the new models so it's rather vague as to what you are buying. Re: Reviews for the new NVA website
There are significant benefits to using better transformers and capacitors in the NVA design. I will post a thread, later today.
