Phono 2 with dual PSU
A friend is thinking about buying a new phono stage so is considering selling his Phono 2 with 2 power supplies It’s set for MC. It was bought in September last year is their any interest in this. It in as new condition.

Could be interested but I never fully understood how Richard set his phono stages for impedance and gain and whether this could be modified once set for a specific cartridge

Impedance is fixed at 450 ohms or thereabouts which should be Ok for most cartridges that require 100 ohm plus. Changing gain I remember involved changing several components I think. I think standard gain for MC is OK for 0.3 to 0.5 but is likely higher than most due to designed to work with passive pre.

Plenty of gain with the 0.2 SPUs.
Again, worth exploring the archive as Doc gave multiple explanations of why the Phono 2 can handle virtually every cartridge on the market.

I remember Richard saying that the only cartridge that won't work is Audio Note IO. That is specifically designed to work with their SUT's I believe.
