I have a 12 panel PV panel array, I have not noticed any problems with the Hi Fi although I do have the Hi Fi an a dedicated ring. My BMU also steps the voltage down slightly to around 220v as it is regularly measured in excess of 248v

We had PV’s on the last house, on sunny days the mains was in excess of 250v. Not good.

Had my headphones on this morning for the first time since the BMU arrived. and there is a noticeable mains hum present. This could be due to the Schitt Magni3 being too close (0.5m) to the BMU or that the interconnect from the DAC runs along the back of the mains unit.

Anyway, I was planning to shift the BMU to the other side of the installation, so I hope that that will sort the hum out.

I keep my BMU in a corner (behind a chair) away from equipment and run a 6 way 3m extension for plugging the system into.

My BMU is a few feet away from the system with a desk top PC and stand in between.

Seems that a safe distance is necessary.

I have mine on the bottom shelf of my "shock horror" rack. No discernable problem and its quite close to everything that matters in my system.
