Acrylic
When I first started using it in construction it was bit by bit nearly 30 years ago - first front panel, then top and back panel, each change improved the amp and I had no explanation why, I had a couple of theories that is all. When I finally went to an all acrylic amp case it was a awkward choice as acrylic cannot be used as a heatsink, so a heatsink had to be incorporated.
Next Cube speakers, early 90's ones were traditional construction using MDF with experiment with HDF. When I started making them again in the late 00's the obvious choice was acrylic even though expensive. I thought it was better but comparison with wooden ones was not useful as different drivers, but I was very happy with the results. I now have an opportunity for direct comparison with the new acrylic Cubettes, as I also have the wooden ones here from my wifes system. Same thickness of case, same case doping as with the last mk1. Bake-off result = the acrylic is musically better by a fairly large margin, nothing else is different. Clarity man, far out
I am forced to come to the conclusion that acrylic is a magic hi-fi material. The first to use it were DNM and Pink Triangle, they should be praised for their foresight, compared to them I am a late comer to this reality.
I am so pleased with them listening to Radio Paradise I can't stop smiling. Next comparison when I make some is with the Cube3.

Re: Acrylic
Hasn't done bad for the new Cubettes either;)
I can't post pics and my mobile phone had a shaky operator (I've sent the best one to the Doc), but they do look really neat and sound like baby versions of the bigger ones - just as they should

Re: Acrylic
I think Michell were first to use acrylic in turntables followed by Oracle. Certainly from early 80's and I'm sure some in earlier decks. Also their 90's amps were at least 50% acrylic. DNM probably were before them. BTW what happened to DNM?
